The Network of neighborhoods and families are the voice and temperament of the town. Because we don’t have a way-back-machine that works, understanding and appreciating the interactions of the people who lived in the past can only be inferred by the circles they travel in or avoid. There are so many interesting families as well as neighborhoods that we will explore though genealogy, newspapers, land transactions, court proceedings, and more.
The Blacksburg Time Machine is a Google based map with the historical homes, civic buildings, churches, shops, etc that have come and gone over the years. This project is not complete, so feel free to please provide information.
