Gilbert Linkous Elementary

Brief History

  • School property was purchased from Charles E. Kabrich estate in September 1962. Complication arose because the surface right could only be purchased. The sub-surface mineral rights would have to be arbitrated in the courts due to the many heirs.
  • School Opened in February 1964
  • Named for Gilbert Franklin Linkous, School Board Chairman
